I never really did get the whole Minecraft obsession, but it would seem that I’m the daft minority as well over 100 million registered users log in with some frequency. Since it is largely up to the players to create their own experiences and build their own adventures, Minecraft has never been a linear or story-driven experience. Until now, that is.
Swedish game studio Mojang is about to get a lot mo’ jingle in its pocket with the release of the first episode of Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Games Series , a five-part, episodic adventure set in the Minecraft universe. Players will assume the role of a male or female hero named Jesse in a quest to seek out the legendary ‘Order of the Stone’ and enlist their help in overcoming a great evil that’s been unleashed on the world.
While Episode 1: The Order of the Stone is available now digitally, fans may want to wait for the retail version being released on October 27 which will contain the first episode on the disc and entitle players to the final four episodes as they’re released.
