Valve Offers Grand Apology for Mac Incompatibility with Steam Hardware

Ideally, the Steam Link and Steam Controller are supposed to work with every platform. If you have a Windows, Mac, or Linux setup, you should be able to use the streaming device and controller. The thing is, Valve has been having problems getting the Steam Link and Controller working with Macs. Even though the devices won’t be released until November 10, it knows these issues may not be fixed until after launch, and has already begun making amends.

Here’s how Valve will say it’s sorry to Mac users. First, everyone with a Mac who has a Steam Link or Steam Controller ordered is getting the 24 game Valve Complete Pack for free. Normally, it’s $99.99. It’s a huge deal, since individually those games cost over $205.

It’s also extending the return period for people afflicted. Instead of lasting 30 days after someone gets their Steam Link and/or Steam Controller, it’ll last for 60 days. People who aren’t satisfied can return them for a refund. They’ll also get to keep the Valve Complete Pack.

The Steam Link and Steam Controller are $49.99 each. You can get both together for $99.98. They’ll work fine with Windows and Linux computers.
