Go Way Back with Xbox One Backward Compatibility on November 12

Go Way Back with Xbox One Backward Compatibility on November 12

A momentous occasion is coming for Xbox One owners. Firmware updates are pretty big deals this generation, since each one seems to include new and exciting features people will actually want to use. The biggest will arrive on November 12, however, as that’s when Microsoft’s console becomes backwards compatible with select Xbox 360 games. People will be able to download the Xbox One update, then enjoy one of their old games by popping in the Xbox 360 disc or downloading the old title to their system.

Backwards compatibility is the big deal with this Xbox One update. A full list still isn’t available, since more games are added to the preview every day, but a general list has been released by Microsoft . Multidisc games aren’t compatible, but quite a few others qualify. For example, Banjo Tooie, Borderlands, Gears of War, Mass Effect, Perfect Dark, and Viva Piñata are among those confirmed.

Other updates will also appear once the November Xbox One update is released. It will make the UI up to 50% faster when it comes to accessing the sections you want. Press the Guide button and you can check Friends, Messages, Notifications, and more while in-game. The Xbox Live Store will also be reorganized to make it easier for people to find the things they want. There will also be a Community Section to allow players to be more social, seeing what’s up in the Activity Feed or what might be trending.

November 12 is going to be a big day!
