Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 Going Freemium

Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 Going Freemium

Come December 8, Konami will be releasing a free-to-play version of its annual soccer game, Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 . The title will be available exclusively for the PS3 and PS4.

This will be one of the first times a large studio releases a big budget game under a free-to-play pricing scheme. Dead or Alive: Last Round did something similar on PS4 in 2015, and showed that this type of model could work as a sort of entry level version of a game.

PES 2016 will launch with its exhibition, training, and multiplayer modes intact, with seven teams available. These teams will be Bayern Munich, Jeventus, AS Roma, Brazil and France. Players will also get unlimited access to the game’s myClub online mode, which will allow them to build their own custom teams by signing players through in-game currency and microtransactions.
