Bloodborne Gets a new Patch After Emergency Maintenance

Bloodborne Gets a new Patch After Emergency Maintenance

Yesterday Bloodborne broke. Several people went online to report being booted to the main menu, sometimes right in the middle or at the end of an important battle. It didn’t take long for the game’s official website to announce that servers were down for “emergency maintenance,” and that it could possibly be several days ongoing. What’s the deal? What is so urgent that could require emergency maintenance, and why wasn’t the cause mentioned specifically?

As it turns out, a From Software rep thanked the Reddit community for bringing to their attention what turned out to be an “exploit” of some kind. It didn’t take very much snooping to come across another Reddit thread, now removed, that detailed a process whereby players could access The Old Hunters DLC without paying for it.As we saw in the Souls games, From Software typically will include DLC areas in an update but block them off until certain criteria are met. In the case of Bloodborne , there was apparently an unclocked entry into the DLC area so large that several players stumbled onto it quite by accident. At any rate, servers are now back up and you have a nifty new patch to keep you safe from all of that free DLC! Did any of you stumble onto The Old Hunters content while adventuring?
