Heroes of the Storm is a MOBA. It relies on plenty of people to succeed. You have to play, and hopefully enjoy it so much that you’ll get friends to play, who will also get their friends to play, and so on. It’s an endless cycle, and there used to be no real reward other than the satisfaction of a match with friends. Except now Blizzard has added a Recruit a Friend option, and it has one of the game’s most requested rewards. If you get four friends to play and they keep playing, you get a Vulture mount.
Both the recruiters and recruits benefit in Heroes of the Storm. The friend gets the character Raynor and a 5-day stimpack to help them be their best for their first few days in the game when they log in, and get Sylvanas to use and a Recruit a Friend portrait should they reach level 10. Recruiters only benefit if their recruits reach level 10. The first level 10 friend earns them the Recruit a Friend portrait.
The real key is to recruit 4 friends and make sure they each reach level 10. That’s when you get the Vulture. Unfortunately, it’s the only way to get that mount. Which is disappointing, since people have wanted it for quite some time. But look at it this way: at least you don’t have to pay money for it!
Heroes of the Storm will also offer +50% experience until December 16, to celebrate the Recruit a Friend campaign.
