Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS was the first of the series to receive DLC characters. There have only been a handful so far, culminating with the recent announcement of Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII. Now, it seems, these character releases will soon stop altogether.
In an interview in Making of Fire Emblem: 25 Years of Development, series director, Masahiro Sakurai, stated that DLC explicitly that DLC for Smash is “coming to an end soon, too, you know?”
More news should be available soon as the final Nintendo Direct for the game is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, December 5, at 5 PM ET.
