Scalebound Delayed to 2017

Scalebound Delayed to 2017

One of the reasons I know I’ll have to buy an Xbox One sooner or later is Scalebound . If you haven’t seen any footage yet, it’s a beautiful action-RPG where you fight huge creatures alongside an effing dragon. The dragon’s name? Thuban. If you’re not convinced yet, I’ll link some footage from IGN at the bottom of this article so you can see how awesome this game looks. If Platinum Games is involved with a game, you can bet it’s going to be good, but lately it feels like everything they’re involved with is being pushed back. It seems Scalebound won’t be ready for us this year after all, according to a recent update on Platinum Games’ website.

The update starts off on a really optimistic note. “Development on the game is going well and we’re really happy with how it’s coming together… It’s the game our team has always dreamed of making.” They go on to say, “In order to deliver on our ambitious vision and ensure that Scalebound lives up to expectations, we will be launching the game in 2017.” They state that this will give them the time needed to bring all of the features and experiences planned for players to fruition. They were singing a similar tune with delivering the news concerning the Star Fox Zero delay. This is tough to swallow so early in the year, knowing that another holiday season has to come and go before we can look forward to the release of Scalebound , but at least we know that when it finally does arrive, it’ll be polished and wonderful.
