Angry Birds Movie to Feature Blake Shelton’s Voice and Music

Angry Birds Movie to Feature Blake Shelton’s Voice and Music

For years I’ve been wondering which would come first: an Angry Birds movie or a Minecraft movie. It looks like Angry Birds is first up to bat with The Angry Birds Movie , and so far the trailers all look as goofy and charming as you’d hope. Hands down, this will be the movie to take your kids to see this spring and summer. Arguably the most well-known and widely-loved mobile game of all time, the Angry Birds games have been downloaded over 10 million times on the Google Play Store alone. Sony Pictures could have put out a half-baked student film with the same name and still made tens of millions of dollars. Luckily, the film seems to be shaping up nicely.

And there’s certainly no shortage of star power. The film stars Jason Sudeikis (known for his work on SNL) and Josh Gad (your kids might recognize him as the voice of Olaf from Frozen). Country music superstar Blake Shelton will also offer his voice to a hillbilly pig. Shelton apparently had a lot of fun on the project, and told Entertainment Weekly that he “…felt like [he] was doing a voice-over for Dukes of Hazzard.” Shelton also wrote a new song specifically for the film. The Angry Birds Movie is set to release on May 30; here’s a trailer to ruffle your feathers in the meantime:
