Rise of the Tomb Raider Looking Great on PC

Rise of the Tomb Raider Looking Great on PC

Rise of the Tomb Raider is the first Tomb Raider game that I’ve actually been hyped about before release. I’ve wanted to play other Tomb Raider games, and I have, but I’ve never felt compelled to keep up with development, marking my calendar and anticipating a release date. I love the direction that Crystal Dynamics has taken the franchise and I really think that they saved Lara Croft from an early… tomb. The game was originally released in November as a timed exclusive for Xbox One, but now PC players finally get a piece of the action.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is out tomorrow for PC via The Windows Store and Steam, and the early reviews are all very reassuring. Of course we expect the game to look a bit better for those using high-end PCs, and that does seem to be the case. One unexpected and welcome improvement according to reviewers is the elimination of input latency, something that made combat in the Xbox One version feel sluggish comparatively. The Foundation Engine is capable of amazing things, and this is a game worth playing on any platform. Although my PC is capable, I’ll probably save this experience for the PS4 because I’m a trophy whore.
