Rumor: Nintendo May Let Us Meet Our Mother 3

Rumor: Nintendo May Let Us Meet Our Mother 3

Nintendo’s Earthbound is a cult classic and has been heralded as one of the SNES’ best games. It was actually Mother 2 , with the original game not getting an English release until it appeared on the Wii U eShop as Earthbound Beginning . Now, it looks like the missing piece of the puzzle, Mother 3 , could be released worldwide in English too.

Mother 3 follows Lucas, a young boy we all know from the Super Smash Bros. games. His Game Boy Advance title was released in Japan in 2006, with Clyde “Tomato” Mandelin releasing an English fan translation in 2008. Tomato offered Nintendo the localization for free, but Eurogamer and other sources have been saying it’s official localization is near finished and it’ll be released worldwide soon.

Japan hasn’t seen a Mother 3 release on either of the eShops yet, so we can’t be 100% sure about where it’ll land, if it does land in English. Odds are, it’ll be on the Wii U, since its eShop is the only one to get GBA Virtual Console games so far.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and hope this localization rumor is real!
