Man, with what’s happening with Mighty No. 9 , Ant Simulator , Broken Age , and such, it really makes you want to avoid Kickstarter campaigns like the plague. Unsung Story isn’t going to make you feel any better. Playdek was going to make Unsung Story: Tale of the Guardians, a game from Final Fantasy Tactics, Final Fantasy XII, and Vagrant Story’ s Yasumi Matsuno. “Was” is the key word here. It probably isn’t going to happen now.
Playdek issued an update on Kickstarter , four months after its last update. Development setbacks, staff member losses, and decreased financial strength has resulted in what may be the end of Unsung Story . The company is supposedly looking for outside help, but now has no release window. It also didn’t mention anything about refunds.
Unsung Story raised $660,126 from 15,824 people. The PC strategic RPG was supposed to be released in July 2015. Think of this as a warning. Even if a game seems like it has an amazing name behind it, the title could totally tank.
