Since the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, other companies want to try and develop their own stables of steady income. For Universal, they’re going with classic movie monsters. A revival of horror greats is going to come, and Johnny Depp has signed on. You won’t see much of him in the movie, though, since he’ll be the Invisible Man.
Yes, Depp will play the title character in The Invisible Man reboot. The producers will be Alex Kurtzman ( Star Trek, Transformers, and Ender’s Game ) and Chris Morgan ( Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7 ). There’s no word on who’s writing the script or when it may be released.
The Invisible Man will be the second Universal monster release. The first is The Mummy , which stars Tom Cruise and should be released on June 9, 2017.
