Oculus Rift PC Bundles Start at $1,500

Oculus Rift PC Bundles Start at $1,500

Further cementing the fact that the Oculus Rift is probably not for most of us, Oculus has announced the first few Oculus Rift PC bundles that will be available when the VR headset launches. These are computers guaranteed to work with the peripheral, so you don’t have to second guess and wonder if what you’ve got will do it. Start saving now, because the cheapest one is $1,499.

The Oculus Rift PC bundles will include the headset, naturally, and an Oculus Ready PC from Alienware, Asus, or Dell. Pre-orders for them will open at 8am PT/10am CT/11am ET on February 16, for those who can afford the opening price. Each one also comes with a Xbox One controller, Eve: Valkyrie’ s Founder’s Pack, and Lucky’s Tale. The bundles will start shipping in April.

For people just curious about computers, Oculus also revealed the varieties from Alienware, Asus, and Dell that will be Oculus Ready. There will be two versions of the Alienware Area 51, the Alienware X51 R3, the Asus G11CD, two versions of the Asus ROG G20GB, and the Dell XPS 8900 SE. The 1TB Alienware X51 R3, Asus G11CD, both Asus ROG G20CBs, and Dell XPS 8900 SE are the models that will be included in the Oculus Rift PC bundles.
