Final Fantasy IX Out Now on Mobile

Final Fantasy IX Out Now on Mobile

Breaking news! The PlayStation Final Fantasy that I never beat is now available on mobile devices! Er, for the rest of you, that’s Final Fantasy IX , and you can download it now from the Good Play Store or App Store for your Android or iOS device, respectively. In FFIX you’ll play as Zidane, a bandit with big plans to kidnap a princess. As you might guess, things don’t go as planned, and pretty soon you’re launched on an epic journey that ends up revolving around – what else? – a crystal.

Out of all the 3D Final Fantasy games that came out on the PlayStation, FFIX was probably the most unique in its aesthetic and tone. Characters are more animated and cartoony, and the game never takes itself too seriously. You also meet the black mage Vivi, who is one of my favorite Final Fantasy characters of all time. This version comes with seven(!) booster features for all of the cheaters: high-speed mode, gil boost, no-encounter mode, characters boosts, and more. It also features a variety of save features as well as HD movies and character models. If you’re definitely planning on picking this up, do so before February 21, when the price will go up from $17 to $21. Stay tuned for updates on the Steam version, which will be coming a little later.
