There have been all sorts of rumors floating around concerning Destiny and its future. You don’t know what to believe! Well, what about something direct from the publisher? Activision has released its Fourth Quarter 2015 Results and its expectations for the coming year. Namely, a sequel and expansion are on the way.
The Destiny expansion will be released this year. Details about it weren’t released, but it will be large. Think of it as another The Taken King , and you’ll have an accurate view of what to expect from Bungie.
The sequel to Destiny will be released in 2017. No details on it other than a confirmation it is happening and will be out next year were available. Of course, given that the official report said Bungie has seen the game’s over 25 million people play for over three billion hours, it would have been crazy for there not to be an additional expansion and sequel.
Currently, Destiny is holding a Crimson Days Valentine’s Day event that will last through February 16.
