Super Meat Boy to Frustrate Wii U Players Very Soon

Super Meat Boy is one of those games that you don’t expect to get very much depth from. I remember when I first saw the game advertised on Xbox 360 I figured it was just some throwaway indie developer trying to make a buck out of a goofy flash game. Playing the demo changed everything, and Super Meat Boy now lives on three different platforms in my house. It’s a great, hard-as-hell platformer with so much charm and wit.

Originally Super Meat Boy was supposed to debut on the Wii, but Nintendo’s restrictions on WiiWare size led to that project meeting a premature end. Now, about 6 years later, it’s come full circle and is set to release on a Nintendo console at last. That is, according to co-creator Tommy Refenes, who tweeted: “Super Meat Boy is coming to WiiU very very very soon. BlitWorks is wrapping it up and you should be playing it in a couple months! Hooray!” We’ll update you with an official release date as soon as we know of one.
