The older a game gets, the less likely we are to see support and updates. Take Diablo II . It’s turning 16 years old this year, and Blizzard has since moved on to Diablo III . That didn’t keep the developer from taking care of its game, though. It received patch 1.14a on March 10.
Diablo II patch 1.14a is mainly about maintenance. It makes sure the game works on modern Windows and Macs. It even gives Mac owners a new installer. Hack and cheat-detection are also being improved.
This is the first major Diablo II patch since 1.13a, which was released in March 2010. Patch 1.13a received its final update, 1.13d, in October 2011. Five years is a long wait for another update, but I’m sure everyone still playing the game will appreciate it.
