Battleborn’s Microtransactions are All Cosmetic

Battleborn’s Microtransactions are All Cosmetic

Gearbox had some good news in regard to Battleborn DLC. It sounds like you aren’t going to have to pay extra for much. While there will be five more characters, as well as more maps, modes, community features, story operations, skins, and taunts, only the skins, taunts, and story operations will cost extra money. The rest will be free.

Here’s how it works. People can buy extra skins and taunts via in-game microtransactions. There will also be five Battleborn packs, with each one including one story operation and some skins and taunts. Pricing wasn’t revealed for individual items, but the packs will be $5 each or $20 in a season pass.

The other stuff, by which I mean the Battleborn characters, maps, modes, and extra features, will be free. The first of these will be Alani, an Eldrid healer turned warrior. She uses the power of water. People who play the Battleborn beta on the PlayStation 4 will be able to use Alani immediately after her release. The beta will actually launch first on the PlayStation 4, too.

Battleborn will come to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 3, 2016. There’ll be a $59.99 standard edition and $74.99 digital deluxe version with the game, season pass, and extra, unspecified cosmetic items.
