Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have unveiled the third DLC release for Rise of the Tomb Raider. It’s called Cold Darkness Awakened , and has Lara exploring a spooky, old, Cold War research base that “holds a dark past that has been unleashed into the Siberian wilderness.” As this affliction spreads, Lara is forced to dispatch deadly Trinity soldiers that have been transformed into bloodthirsty savages. Basically, it sounds like this is going to be Rise of the Tomb Raider ‘s version of a zombie mode, and we’re okay with that.
This is the third batch of DLC released by Crystial Dynamics, following Endurance Mode and Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch. If you paid for the season pass, Cold Darkness Awakened is already yours and will be available on March 29 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC. If you didn’t pick up the season pass you can still do so for $30, otherwise you’ll pay $10 for the new DLC.
