Remedy Addresses Issues With PC Version of Quantum Break

Quantum Break is a great game – on the Xbox One. The PC version is having some technical issues, which is a shame, because Microsoft was really pushing hard to show how wonderful the Universal Windows Platform is going to be and how exclusives have much brighter futures as stars on Xbox One as well as Windows 10 PCs. The issues aren’t totally game breaking (this isn’t Arkham Knight all over again) but they’re noticeable enough to detract from the experience while playing. It’s mainly performance issues; stuttering frame rates and occasional crashes upon launch.

Remedy acknowledged the issues in a forum post on its community site (via VentureBeat ): “Sometimes after a longer play session, the game can end up to a state where the video memory becomes fragmented, and an important asset gets moved to system memory, which slows the rendering performance significantly. This problem is very rare and Remedy will continue to investigate and improve the video memory behavior in future updates. If you experience this issue, exiting and restarting Quantum Break will resolve this issue for now.” If you’re struggling to enjoy Quantum Break on your PC, just try restarting your game after every hour or so of gameplay. That’s obviously not an ideal solution, but it should alleviate the symptoms to a problem that should be remedied soon.
