Players Furious Over Game-Breaking Exploits in The Division

Ubisoft can’t catch a break, and neither can player just trying to enjoy The Division the way it was meant to be enjoyed. It seems like as soon as one exploit or glitch is patched, another one pops up. Things have reached a point now to where the community is largely divided as to the right course of action. A third of players want Ubisoft to just take the servers offline until they can fix this all up; another third are calling for bans or punishments to be meted out to anyone who uses exploits to obtain high-end loot or beef up their weapons; still another third argue that at this point the exploits are the only way to stay competitive since so many are taking advantage of them.

There’s one glitch right now that you can exploit to give your weapon a huge boost in DPS, for example. All you need is a weapon with the “Competent” perk. As seen in the video below, if you rapidly switch between weapons (including the “Competent” weapon) and then use a skill to trigger the DPS boost, you can achieve enormous, game-breaking results. Needless to say, this is something that has made the Dark Zone a much darker place. The community forums on Ubisoft’s official site are full of complaints from furious fans who just want to play the game fair and square. Can Ubisoft keep up with crafty cheaters? So far it seems like the answer is no, and I’m sure as soon as this glitch is patched another, new exploit will rear its head. When it does, you’ll hear about it here.
