No more socializing in Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII! Square Enix is shutting it all down. The Outerworld game component is where you could post battle scores, participate in challenges to earn garb for Lightning, get free adornment accessories, share screenshots, or sell items. It’s being shut down on April 26, 2016.
The big loss with Outerworld’s closure is the disappearance of the Siegfried garb. That’s an outfit you could only get from posting your battle score from fighting Zaltys in the Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII demo to Outerworld. Two of the other garb rewards, Duelist and Helter Skelter, can be acquired via playing through the game’s Hard Mode. Outerworld was also the only way to get the Dark Knight Glasses, Gold Chocobo Chick, Gold Chocobo Chick in Nest, and King’s Crown adornments.
Man, this is disappointing. Even though Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII wasn’t super popular, it’s a shame to see the online component shutting down after only two years. Go grab those accessories and outfits before everything gets turned off next week!
