Company of Heroes 2 DLC Pays the Community Back

Company of Heroes 2 DLC Pays the Community Back

Something rather interesting has happened in Company of Heroes 2 . Back in December, a Polycount War Paint contest was held. People could create custom skins based on specific themes, and the winners’ skins would be sold via the in-game shop. Well, the winners have been chosen and the War Paint Skins have been released.

10 War Paint Skins were dubbed winners in this Company of Heroes 2 contest. The historical designs were Puppteer’s Two Tone Blue Steel, fx’s Operation Husky, Choccy Starfish’s The Desert Rats, RitaRush’s Ardennes Improvised Ambush, and Starbuck3’s German Three Color. The non-historical skins were Paid Player’s Dazzle, Soul5tice’s Anaconda, Shriken’s Wood & Iron, Soul5tice’s Tiger Shark, and GrumpNTug’s Hellbound. People can buy them separately, or in a Historical or Fantasy bundle.

The best part is where the money goes. 30% of the revenue goes to the creators and 20% goes toward future Company of Heroes 2 community activities. As for the rest, 30% goes to Valve and the last 20% to Relic. So the people who put in the hours to make these unique skins get something out of their investment.

Think your Company of Heroes 2 equipment needs to be prettier? Consider getting some of the War Paint DLC that benefits fans.
