Huge Street Fighter V Update Incoming

Huge Street Fighter V Update Incoming

All right, World Warriors, Street Fighter V servers will be down for ten hours today until 9 PM EST. This huge downtime is to prepare for a huge update that will be adding some new content and some changes to the game. First of all, Guile will be available at 10 PM, and with him comes the new Air Force Base stage, which you’ll probably recognize as Guile’s signature stage from older Street Fighter games. Just like Alex, Guile will be free to use for anyone until the arrival of the virtual marketplace. When the marketplace finally arrives, Guile and Alex will have to be purchased using Fight Money or real-world money. If you have the season pass you don’t have to worry about any of that. The Air Force Base stage is the first new stage added to the game, and it can purchased with 70,000 Fight Money.

This update will also be tweaking a lot of things for those of you who like to compete online. One of the biggest gripes from players out of the gate was the lack of penalization for rage-quitters. Capcom has addressed this, and continues to refine its penalty system. Matchmaking is also getting some much needed TLC, and you can expect faster matchmaking times and more user-friendly Battle Lounges from now on (theoretically). For specific details pertaining to the matchmaking and penalty system refinements, as well as an overview of bug and balancing fixes, you can all of the details here .
