Microsoft to Unveil New Xbox and Controller at E3

Microsoft to Unveil New Xbox and Controller at E3

According to Microsoft blogger Brad Sams, MSoft is getting ready to unveil some new hardware at E3. Brad’s sources inside Microsoft have informed him that a new Xbox model is on the way. He doesn’t know exactly what it’s going to be, but his educated guess is that it’ll be something like an Xbox One Slim. While it’s now clear that Sony is working on its upgraded PlayStation 4 Neo, we have no reason to expect Microsoft to unveil an upgraded Xbox One. In fact, Phil Spencer has made it clear that he’s not a fan of the idea.

It was also reported that Microsoft will be unveiling a new controller. This sounds a bit odd, as the Xbox controller has seen few iterations since the days of the Xbox 360. The Xbox One controller is considered to be the best console controller in the world, and Microsoft already released a pricey, $150 Elite controller, which is almost entirely modular and comes with a lot of bells and whistles. Maybe the new controller will be something in-between. I can imagine a modular version of the basic Xbox One controller that allows you, if you want, to purchase all of the extra triggers, sticks, and d-pads separately. Would you pay for something like that? Let us know in the comments.
