GT Sport and The Last Guardian to Release This Year

GT Sport and The Last Guardian to Release This Year

During an interview with French site Challenges (via DualShockers ), SCEE Vice President Philippe Cardon expressed his confidence that we’d be seeing Gran Turismo Sport and The Last Guardian this year. “For many 2015 was to be the peak of the 8th generation before entering a phase of stability,” he said, “but we believe that 2016 will be another year of growth. This will be a better year for software and a very big year for hardware. We expect to still sell many consoles. And then there is Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End , Sony’s main event this year. This is our biggest release of this year alongside with Gran Turismo and The Last Guardian . And of course, PlayStation VR is coming.”

It’s interesting that he kind of slipped that in toward the end of his statement, almost as a fact that he took for granted. Hopefully his confidence is well-founded. Almost as interesting as what he said about GT Sport and The Last Guardian is what he didn’t say about Horizon: Zero Dawn. Horizon , for many, is the most highly anticipated PS4 exclusive. It’s been rumored that Horizon might be delayed until 2017, and the fact that Cardon didn’t mention it when hyping the latter half of PS4’s 2016 is telling. Either way, we have plenty to look forward to, and hopefully we see GT Sport running on PSVR at E3.
