The Division Has a Two Strikes Rule for Cheaters

The Division Has a Two Strikes Rule for Cheaters

Ubisoft has talked a lot about punishing people who were cheating and using The Division’ s exploits. Now, words are turning into actions. The company has detailed what will happen to people who use cheat engines or take advantage of bugs to advance in the game.

The Division now has two new means of telling when people are using cheat engines. The first time someone gets caught, the cheater will be suspended from the game for two weeks. If it happens a second time, they’re permanently banned.

Those taking advantage of exploits have less drastic punishments. People who randomly stumble on a bug won’t be penalized, and Ubisoft will be talking more about such issues when they’re found so people know to avoid the exploits. People who are seen to repeatedly use The Division exploits will have their characters rolled-back to their status before using the bug, and they could eventually be suspended or banned.

Better be a little more honest when playing The Division. Things just got real!
