Starcraft II has received quite a few add-ons since it launched, in the form of expansions and additional campaigns. Now, it’s getting premium characters for the co-op missions. The first of them is Abathur, and he’s immediately available for $4.99. While that sounds a bit expensive, you need to learn more about him before you judge.

Starcraft II’ s Abathur is a Zerg unit. One of his trademark abilities is one that allows him to evolve his units. When you beat opponents, you can collect Biomass to make your own army stronger. Getting 100 Biomass evolves a unit, turning ground units into Brutalisks and air units into Leviathans. He can also use a mending ability to heal his units or use toxins on enemies. He has unique unit loadouts, even getting Symbiotes for his Brutalisks and Leviathans.
If you play a lot of Starcraft II with friends, Abathur seems pretty solid. You’ll need to employ new tactics to use him properly, plus he’s got plenty of new abilities and units. Seems like a good deal for $5 after all, right?
