Overwatch Goes Live a Day Early in North America

Overwatch Goes Live a Day Early in North America

Overwatch has an official release date of May 2, but if you live in North America, and I assume that most of you do, you’ll actually be able to play the game the evening of May 23. Blizzard has planned for a global launch, and it wants the servers to go live at the same time for everyone around the world. We just learned what time the servers will be going live, and it’s good news for those of you who just can’t wait to hop online and get going.

The servers will be going live in South Korea May 24 at 8 AM, which means that we’ll be able to play the game here in the states at 7 PM EST on May 23. This is great news, especially since most of you who pre-ordered the game will have it pre-loaded onto your consoles and it’s being sold at retailers a day early. Originally I thought the early physical release was a bit odd, but now it makes perfect sense. If you still have a lot of sick days stored up at work, Tuesday might be a good day to call in.
