The Division Update 1.2 Revamps Loot, Brings New Gear

The Division Update 1.2 Revamps Loot, Brings New Gear

Ubisoft wants so badly for you guys to love The Division again. Lately it seems that the only headlines you see about the game are about exploits that need to be patched or complaints about the way loot is dished out in the Dark Zone. Update 1.2 goes live tomorrow, and Ubisoft plans to address all of these issues and more, mainly by hiking up the rate at which you’ll find shiny, useful loot. According to the official update notes (via GamesRadar), “With update 1.2, we want to add a layer of consistency between activities so you can obtain stronger gear from the content that you enjoy the most. We want to make loot more fun! To do this we will be more generous overall, provide clear progression steps, allow more diverse gameplay options to obtain the best loot, and make the Dark Zone more consistent to the Gear Score of the player.”

It sounds like Ubisoft is taking notes and following in the footsteps of Destiny , which also received a relatively recent update that increased the rate at which high-level loot will drop from various activities. Players don’t want to be shoehorned into one particular mission (like the King’s Fall raid) or activity (like crafting in The Division ) to obtain the best gear, so these changes are most welcome. By the way, you’re going to have a lot of new gear to scavenge for. Update 1.2 also brings with it four new gear sets: Hunter’s Faith (marksman build), Lone Star (heavy munitions ammo / tank build), Final Measure (buffs for boss / tank build), and Predator’s Mark (balanced / support build).
