Battleborn’s Price Drops to $40 to Compete With Overwatch

Battleborn’s Price Drops to $40 to Compete With Overwatch

It certainly seems like Overwatch is going to beat Battleborn . It managed to bring in over nine million players for the beta and seems to be all people can talk about lately. Not to mention, Battleborn’ s critical reception hasn’t been 10/10’s across the board. But, Gearbox is hoping a price drop might remind people the game exists now that Overwatch is out.

When Battleborn launched on May 3, it was $59.99. Now, every version of the game is on sale via most every retailer. The standard edition is down to $39.99 at Amazon , Best Buy , GameStop , and Walmart . The formerly $74.99 digital deluxe edition is down to $54.99 in some instances. I hope you didn’t purchase Battleborn at launch, because this kind of price drop has to hurt.

While Gearbox and retailers probably feel like this is a good way to get attention, it may carry different connotations. It certainly feels like a desperate ploy. Plus, people who did commit to a $60 or $75 launch copy are bound to feel swindled after this.
