Xbox Is Celebrating 3 Years of Games with Gold

Next month Xbox will be celebrating 3 years of Games with Gold! Microsoft is throwing a party, and you’re all invited. Now remember that one friend growing up who always threw the great birthday parties? You’d get your parents to buy them an action figure or Nerf gun or something, but when the party was over you actually left with better swag in the gift bags. If you didn’t have that one, wealthy friend whose parents had to outdo all of the other parents by making that parting gift really expensive, then I feel sorry for you. But don’t despair: Microsoft is that friend now, and it wants to give you the cool presents for this special birthday.

Next month you can look forward to 4 really special games: 2 Xbox One games and 2 Xbox 360 games that will also be playable on Xbox One through backward compatibility. Your two Xbox One games will be Goat Simulator, an unexpected breakout hit that is almost exactly what it sounds like (see the video below for footage); and The Crew , Ubisoft’s wildly ambitious “online caRPG.” Those two games will be available June 1-30, and June 16 – July 15, respectively. The two Xbox 360 games you can look forward to are: Super Meat Boy , one of the most challenging and addictive platformers in recent history, and XCOM Enemy Unknown , a reboot of a cult classic that received rave reviews across the board and inspired a stellar sequel. Those two titles will be available June 1-15, and June 16-30, respectively. 4 great games to celebrate 3 years of free games. It doesn’t get any better than that.
