Mirror’s Edge May Become a TV Show

Mirror’s Edge May Become a TV Show

Video game movies aren’t in the best place right now. Ratchet & Clank flopped. There are mixed messages concerning the World of Warcraft movie. And really, does anyone over the age of 9 want to see Angry Birds? No. So, maybe a video game-inspired TV show would do better. Maybe Mirror’s Edge will break the curse.

Endemol Shine North America has the rights to Mirror’s Edge now. The company, which is known for The Biggest Loser, The Office, The Voice , MasterChef, and The Tudors , could end up making Faith famous on the small screen. Sharon Hall, president of Endemol Shine North America, said, “[ Mirror’s Edge ] has a strong female protagonist, a wildly rabid fan base, and a worldwide brand that Electronic Arts and EA DICE have done an amazing job establishing.”

There are some concerns about a scripted Endemol Shine North America show. The Office and The Tudors aside, the studio doesn’t have a good track record. Remember, it tried to do US versions of Coupling, Kath & Kim, and Gracepoint. But hey, maybe it’ll have better luck with a show that isn’t a redo of a British comedy or drama.
