The leaks were true; all of them. The Steam “Summer Picnic Sale” has officially begun and will continue until 10 AM PDT on July 4. If you’ve been holding off on buying new games for a few weeks, eagerly anticipating some deep discounts, now is the time to storm the storefront and see what’s on offer. You may have to show some patience, though; Steam is getting hammered with high volumes of traffic at the moment and many users are reporting errors loading the page.
Once you finally break through to the other side, you’ll find some pretty great deals. Stardew Valley is being offered for 20% off, and DOOM is discounted by a whopping 40%. Certain Deus Ex and Assassin’s Creed games can be found for up to 75% off as well. There are some notable games missing from among the discounted (where’s Counter Strike GO? ), but you can’t have it all, I suppose.
