Square Enix and CNN Hosting Human Augmentation Conference

Square Enix and CNN Hosting Human Augmentation Conference

Is robotic and cybernetic augmentation a human right? How can augmentation be accessible to everyone on the planet? Who should have the final say on augmentation procedures, doctors or individuals? What will medical advances enable 10 years from now? These are questions that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided ponders. They are also questions that will be addressed as some of the brightest minds in medicine, philosophy, and human rights come together to discuss the present and future of human augmentation. This conversation will be taking place at the Paley Center for Media in New York City on August 3, 2016.

The conference, which has been dubbed Human by Design, is being put on by Deus Ex publisher Square Enix in partnership with CNN’s brand studio Courageous. Several panels and keynotes will be held, featuring various speakers. According go the official press release, “The conference will culminate with the presentation of The Code of Ethics on Human Augmentation . Drafted by the Human by Design Board, which is comprised of conference speakers, The Code is meant to engage a deeper conversation around the issues of human augmentation, while reflecting the specific views of the authors, in an effort to help shape the future of the industry.” For more information, you can visit the official Human by Design website here .
