The Witcher 3 GOTY Edition Confirmed

The Witcher 3 GOTY Edition Confirmed

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is due to receive a Game of the Year edition after all. I mean, we weren’t sure if it would happen since Wild Hunt was met with such lukewarm reviews all around, and didn’t win any major awards. I’m kidding, of course. We all knew this was on the way, it was just a question of when. While we still don’t have any kind of release window, we do at least have official confirmation that a GOTY edition is in the works.

Eurogamer first spotted a listing for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Game of the Year Edition” on USK (the German age-ratings board). After breaking the news, game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz got in touch to make the following statement: “With all the free DLC and updates the game received so far, including significant changes to the game’s interface and mechanics, many gamers have asked us if we’re working on some sort of a Game of the Year Edition. I’m happy to confirm – yes, plans are in motion to release such an edition. We’ll release more details, including the release date, in the future. In the meantime, I’d like to thank every fan of the game for their support – you’re really amazing!” This may be just the thing that drags me into the huge world of The Witcher 3 . I played and loved the second installment, but never found the time for Geralt’s latest (and possibly last) adventure; a comprehensive edition of the game at a fair price is exactly what I’ve been waiting for.
