We have a perfect example of a good news, bad news situation here. Let’s start with the good! System Shock is coming to the PlayStation 4! The remake of the PC classic is on Kickstarter right now and Nightdive Studios has been given the okay from Sony. The game won’t just be on PC. Console owners will be able to experience it too.
Here’s the bad news. It’s a two-parter, so brace yourself. First, the PlayStation 4 version won’t be released until 2018. That means we have to wait two years for it. The second is that the Xbox One port hasn’t been confirmed yet. We still have to wait and see if both consoles will enjoy the experience.
At least we know that it definitely will happen. The PlayStation 4 port of System Shock isn’t a stretch goal. It’s included in the $900,000 goal, which has already been met and surpassed. At the moment, over $1,000,000 has been raised, so we’re good.
