Double Dose of DOOM Incoming

Double Dose of DOOM Incoming

Want more DOOM ? Who doesn’t? Delightfully for all you demon-destroyers, we’ve got a double dose of DOOM coming up for you.

Today Bethesda is releasing Free Update 2, which adds lots of new PvP goodness to the game. Exodus is a new capture-the-flag mode with a twist: the flags and bases move around. Better be quick!  Sector is a more standard capture-and-hold mode. Both modes can be played on any existing or future DOOM multiplayer map.

Free Update 2 also contains some additions to SnapMap, notably the ability to add a selectable weapon wheel (as found in the single-player campaign) to your custom maps. You can also now play as a demon called the Mancubus. Sounds kinky.

Want to send some more money Bethesda’s way? That opportunity is coming next week, when the first paid DLC pack will be released. It’s called Unto the Evil and includes, “three new multiplayer maps, a brand-new playable demon called The Harvester, a new weapon (the EMG Mark V pistol), the new Kinetic Mine equipment, a bad-ass robotic armor set with new customization options, new hack modules, taunts and more.” If you don’t own the DLC but your friend does, you can have access to its new maps if you’re in a party with your friend. This new feature is called PartyPlay and is meant to keep the community playing together.

Here’s a trailer detailing all this incoming DOOM iness.
