Bethesda May Consider Sequels for Rage and The Evil Within

The Evil Within and Rage were two games that, while receiving varied reviews, attracted dedicated followings. The former was a pretty trippy survival horror game that, toward the end, became too much of a pew-pew-shoot-everything fest for my tastes. It did have incredible art direction and ambience, though. Rage was the first new IP from id Software in ages, and the last game developed under the supervision of John Carmack before he moved on to Oculus.

Australian outlet Finder published an interview with Pete Hines wherein the prospect of sequels for Rage and The Evil Within was brought up. When asked whether the games sold well enough to merit sequels Hines had the following to say: “I do think both The Evil Within and Rage did well enough that we could make sequels… but we have a lot of stuff in the pipeline right now so you will have to wait and see.” It was a pretty safe answer, but Hines wasn’t shy about the fact that this is something that may have already been discussed internally. Maybe after the dust has settled with Prey and Quake Champions we’ll get an exciting announcement.
