Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Now Playable on Xbox One

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Now Playable on Xbox One

If you’re like me and just finished watching Stranger Things on Netflix, you’re probably craving more 80s sci-fi action in your life. It’s a niche craving to be sure, and there isn’t much out there to quench our thirst for more campy dialogue, cheesy special effects, and terrible synths. Thankfully, Microsoft has our back. As of today, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon is playable on Xbox One via backward compatibility.

Blood Dragon was a roaring good time on PS3 and Xbox 360, but the game was really demanding. It ran pretty poorly on both consoles, at times taking FPS dips down into the low 20s. It should run much better on the Xbox One, which is good news because this is exactly the kind of campy experience we’ve been craving. Per Ubisoft’s official description: “Welcome to an 80’s vision of the future. The year is 2007 and you are Sargent Rex Colt, a Mark IV Cyber Commando. Your mission: get the girl, kill the baddies, and save the world.” It doesn’t get much cheesier than that, folks. If you need a reminder of how awful / awesome this game is, check out the trailer below:
