Make Room, BioShock: The Collection Is Huge

BioShock: The Collection has appeared for pre-order on the Xbox One, and… you might want to free up a little space. I expected the bundle to take up about 35GB of space. After all, these are older games. Even with the extra DLC I figured the games would be close to their size on the Xbox 360 and PS3. It’s not like they were completely remastered in an updated engine or anything. Delete a demo or two and you should be good, right? Wrong.

The Collection weighs in, cumulatively, at almost 70GB. The original BioShock will take up about 16.4GB, BioShock 2 will occupy about 16.6GB, and BioShock Infinite needs a whopping 36.4GB. Those three games on their original consoles were 4.6GB, 6.5GB, and 6.5GB, respectively. According to the official description, these games have been “remastered for modern machines,” which means some fancy anti-aliasing and brushed up textures, most likely. I hope it’s worth it, because that’s nearly one-fifth of the my PS4’s total HD space.
