Nintendo has planted some incredibly valuable seeds with indie developers through its “Nindies” program. The Wii U and 3DS eShops are full of incredible offerings from some of the most talented indie studios in the world, and several incredible games – games like Fast Racing Neo and Shovel Knight – wouldn’t have received their due spotlight if it weren’t for Nintendo’s support and promotion. One of the most exciting ways Nintendo has chosen to promote key indie developers is through its “Nindies @ Night” event, which takes place during PAX West. Nintendo will be returning to PAX (Sept. 2-5) this year with a fresh lineup of Wii U and 3DS games to show off.
We’re in for a lot of new gameplay footage! On the Wii U expect to see playable versions of Axiom Verge, Jotun: Valhalla Edition, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, Severed, World to the West, Steamworld Heist, and some exciting new DLC for Fast Racing Neo . The 3DS lineup includes Runbow Pocket, Punch Club, Severed, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, Noitu Love: Devolution, and Gurumin: A Monsterous Adventure . Nintendo will have some big titles on the show floor as well, including Dragon Quest VII , the producer of which will be participating in a Developer Discussion at 1:30PM local time on September 4.
