Japanese video game magazines have spilled the beans on the initial DLC offering for Dark Souls III . The first DLC expansion, called Ashes of Ariandel , will become available worldwide on October 25. A trailer and social media posts released by the North American PlayStation team have been taken down for some unknown reason, but will likely reappear soon. The Dark Souls III season pass is now available to pre-order for $25, and will entitle you to both planned DLC expansions as well as a premium PS4 theme.
So what’s new in Ashes of Ariandel ? We don’t have all of the details yet, but we do know for sure that new spells, new weapon arts, and a new map are on the way. Images from the Japanese publications show a great sword engulfed in colorless flames, a devastating new icy spell, and a boomerang made out of light. The new area will be called “Immortal Competition,” and will focus solely on the PvP aspect of the game. We should get more details and an official trailer soon, so stay tuned.
