The Division’s Survival and Last Stand Have Been Delayed

The Division’s Survival and Last Stand Have Been Delayed

Sometimes, companies need to take a step back to set things right. The Division is a great game, but it’s had some issues for a while. There needs to be some enemy, Dark Zone, and PvP rebalancing, as well as equipment rebalancing. There are still bugs that keep the game from being enjoyable. Loot drops are even still an issue. So, to address all of these, Ubisoft has announced it’s delaying The Division’ s next two add-ons to focus on Update 1.4 and set things right.

Two more The Division expansions were supposed to be released this year. Survival, which would force someone to survive as long as possible in an area full of enemies, was supposed to arrive this summer alongside Update 1.4. It was going to be followed by Last Stand, an as yet undefined final add-on, this winter. Now Survival will be released sometime in 2016 after Update 1.4, and Last Stand has been pushed to 2017.

On the one hand, this is a major blow to The Division . It’s the sort of game best enjoyed online, and you need new content constantly bringing people back. Delaying add-ons isn’t going to keep it fresh in people’s minds. On the other hand, Update 1.4 is important and needs to be out now. Let’s hope that we see some sort of progress soon, because Ubisoft needs to keep this game relevant.
