Aloy Scales a Machine in Horizon: Zero Dawn’s 4K Trailer

Aloy Scales a Machine in Horizon: Zero Dawn’s 4K Trailer

While the PlayStation Meeting 2010 was mainly about the hardware, there were a few exceptions. It was an opportunity to show off how games like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Mass Effect: Andromeda, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and Watch Dogs 2 look on the PlayStation 4 Pro. But, in the case of Horizon: Zero Dawn , it was also an opportunity to show Aloy interacting with one of the dinosaur-like Machines that inhabit her world in about a three minute video. Though, not in native 4K. Jan-Bart Van Beek, the game’s art director, confirmed the game will be upscaled to 4K on PlayStation 4 Pros.

It’s actually a really neat bit of gameplay footage, even if it is only upscaled to 4K. We get to see Aloy run to catch up to the massive creature in a Horizon: Zero Dawn level, taking down another hostile enemy along the way. She then leaps onto it, climbs up its scales and parts, before finally coming to rest on its head.

Here, see for yourself.

I can’t tell the difference between it and a native 4K game. Can you?

Horizon: Zero Dawn really looks like an extraordinary game. Though, I feel a bit bad for the Machine Aloy scaled in the trailer. It seemed like a rather peaceful behemoth, but we couldn’t tell if what she did to it harmed it while helping her. Regardless, it’s definitely something for both PlayStation 4 and possible PlayStation 4 Pro owners to look forward to playing.
