Over 103 Million People Are Still Playing League of Legends

Over 103 Million People Are Still Playing League of Legends

League of Legends is a very big deal. The game is eight years old and its developer, Riot Games, has just turned ten. That’s quite a hallmark. To celebrate, Riot has decided to reveal the current player count for the game and offer up a giveaway. The game has 103 million monthly users. That’s good news for both League of Legends and Riot!

I suspect that number could possibly go up a bit, thanks to Riot’s 10th anniversary giveaway. To celebrate staying in business so long, League of Legends Kayle-related freebies are being doled out to people who have logged in within the last 60 days. If you don’t already own Kayle, you do now. If you do, you now have an icon and skin for her.

Let’s hope this is the first of many such feats for League of Legends and Riot. In a world where games and companies can quickly be cancelled or closed down, it’s great to see such longevity. Here’s hoping they’re still this successful 10 years from now!
