Usually, Microsoft’s Xbox Live Games with Gold program has some pretty solid games. But October 2016’s lineup may give you pause. It’s not that next month’s games aren’t good, but they’re a little more niche than we’re used to. There are absolutely some winners, but it’s weird when we get a month where The Escapist could be the most notable freebie.
On October 1, we’ll get two rather niche game. The new one is Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings for the Xbox One. This baseball game will be around all month. It’s joined by the Xbox 360 game MX vs ATV Reflex , which will be around October 1-15. On October 16, The Escapists comes to the Xbox One and I am Alive shows up for the Xbox 360. The former will be available until November 15, while the latter leaves on October 31.
These are good games. I loved The Escapists and recommend it, and MX vs ATV Reflex is better than you’d expect, too. They just aren’t as extraordinary as some past games. But hey, one slow month isn’t always that bad.
