Pokemon Uranium’s Support Ends

Pokemon Uranium’s Support Ends

2016 was a sad year for fan games. On the plus side, both the Metroid 2 reimagining, AM2R , and Pokemon Uranium were released. However, Nintendo released DMCAs for both, causing takedowns. While Pokemon Uranium was gone, the team behind it was still offering online trading, battling, patches and Mystery Gifts. But now, even that support has ended.

The announcement was made via Twitter . The Pokemon Uranium team went over how dedicated they were to this game, spending nine years developing it. They expressed their appreciation for all the attention they received for the game. However, they noted that they’d hit their limit when it came to supporting it, and said they won’t offer Pokemon Uranium downloads, online services, support, or upgrades.

I’m so sad to here this. Pokemon Uranium was really a fun game. To make things worse, there were certain Pokemon that only evolved via trading or Mystery gift items. You needed an Aromatic Herb to evolve Spritzee into Miasmedic, for example. And you had to trade Linkite to evolve it into Chainite. I just wish there’d been some advance warning before this happened.
