The Fruit Ninja Movie Is Still a Thing

The Fruit Ninja Movie Is Still a Thing

Remember way back in May, when it seemed like an animated Fruit Ninja movie was going to be made? That Halfbrick thought its fruit-slicing mobile game was worthy of a big screen adaptation? Yeah, it’s actually moving forward. New Line Cinema, which recently was behind Keanu, The Conjuring 2, and Central Intelligence, is going to make it happen.

Some other names have been attached to the Fruit Ninja movie. Tripp Vinson will be the producer. Most recently, he did San Andreas, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, and Journey to the Center of the Earth. J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani will write the script. Previously, they worked on How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack , The 59th Primetime Emmy Awards , and a pilot called Twist .

The Fruit Ninja story sounds… well… like what you’d expect from anything based on Fruit Ninja . The lead characters need to train and become Fruit Ninjas to save the world. Maybe it’s set in an alternate reality where Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs went horribly wrong?
